Each year more than 300 volunteers donate their time to Northern Youth Abroad (NYA). Volunteers serve as mentors, group leaders, facilitators, host families, board members, selection committee members and in many other capacities. Not only do volunteers give thousands of hours to NYA, but many have been doing it year after year - all because they believe in our participants and their potential.
We are currently accepting applications for the 2012 NYA Outstanding Volunteer Award.
The award recipient will be chosen by a selection committee and will be someone who demonstrates the following:
- Active volunteerism with NYA in any of its program areas
- Has contributed to NYA over several years
- Has dedicated a significant investment of time as a volunteer with NYA
- Has had significant impact on the success of NYA and its programs
- Is a positive role model for NYA Participants
